Erkhem Garid
2025 LEAVING THE NEST SENIORS
Erkhemkhuu began his journey toward fencing after reading a web novel (Duelists Road: The Strongest Fencer doesn’t use [Skills]!) he picked up during the start of his school year in 2023. With Duelists Road igniting his interest in the sport, his parents caught notice, and signed him up for a club in the winter.
It was a blur after that. From year to year, country to country, and state to state.
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, Newtown, Connecticut, United States, until the present. After his move to Oregon, and having spent months without real practice, he finally returned to fencing at the NWFC, which by far had the greatest effect in refining both his confidence as an athlete and skill as a fencer.
Erkhemkhuu is greatly passionate in art. Not just in making things, but communicating with another person through that art, through any medium he can get his hands on. Writing, drawing, music, structure, poetry, and for quite a while, he’s said that even fencing counts as art in his opinion. He’ll be attending PCC in the fall, but in all honesty, he’s still not sure what classes he should take, but no matter what happens, he’s still going to fence at NWFC for quite a while!
