*Warm-up uniforms (jackets & pants) must be worn on all podiums (local, regional, national).
Squad Locker
“How do I get my last name on the back of my jacket or lamé?”
All fencers are required to have their last name on their uniform, either on the back of the jacket/lamé or the rear thigh of the knickers, at all National and International Events.
We recommend all our athletes use Marx Enterprises to stencil their names on their uniforms. Owned by long-time fencer and NWFC Member Bob Marx himself, Marx Enterprises can be trusted.
Marx Enterprises is an independent business and is not employed or operated by the employees of NWFC.

Donate to support our Financial Aid Program!
The Financial Aid program is made possible thanks to generous donations from our community members. NWFC is a 501(3)c not-for-profit organization. With their help, fencing is becoming more accessible than ever before in the PNW.
Financial Aid
NWFC awards grants and scholarships to approved athletes of all ages
The Northwest Fencing Center Financial Aid program is available to current fencers.
You must complete the 4-week Intro Session before applying for Financial Aid.
When designing the program, we wanted to keep access, fairness, and confidentiality close in mind. Applying is easy, and information is not seen by staff or coaches.

What gear you should buy and when
When you start fencing you will be able to use NWFC gear. As you progress through the classes you will be required to have your own equipment, starting with a mask and glove. NWFC does not provide gear for competitions, so you will need to purchase all of your own gear before starting to compete.
Team Building Events
Team Building Events at NWFC are a unique and memorable experience. Appropriate for guests of all ages, our coaches will lead warm-up games and fencing fun.
The Armory
The armory is located past the lobby and the kitchen on the left. It is open at all times to all members for the purpose of working on/repairing their weapons and equipment. Students are welcome to use the armory but it needs to remain clean. If it is not clean, it is a safety hazard and will be locked. Please keep in mind that a member’s class time is not an appropriate time to fix a weapon. Please check your weapon(s) ahead of time and have them ready to go for class.
Wall of Champions
The Wall of Champions at Northwest Fencing Center is how we recognize and pay tribute to all our athletes’ accomplishments, past and present. Below you will find a running list of our fencers that have won National, Olympic, and other champion titles.
Volunteering
NWFC wouldn’t be the club it is today without help from its volunteers. They help run tournaments and special events, supporting the club in many ways.
When you volunteer at NWFC you will learn more about fencing, meet other members of the community, and help develop the sport of fencing. We encourage all members of the NWFC community to volunteer, whether they are athletes, parents, or friends.
For Parents:
Our articles ‘For Parents’ cover topics like where to put your child’s patch, how our class graduation process works, and more.

What to pack for a fencing tournament
In order to compete at any tournament, you must have complete, working gear. If you forget something critical, you’ll have to borrow from another athlete or replace it. In addition to their gear, many fencers have other items they wouldn’t travel without. Keep reading for some of our recommendations for a successful competition weekend.
