Who we are

Northwest Fencing Center (NWFC) is a non-profit athletic center that has been providing people of all ages with classes, camps, and private lessons since 1972. As a 501(3)c not-for-profit organization, NWFC is led by its Board of Directors. Board Members are appointed by NWFC members and are responsible for providing direction, leadership, and stability for the organization’s operations.

Vision: An inclusive community as a model of excellence for the fencing world, and beyond.

Mission: Fencing education for all that encourages growth in perseverance and sportsmanship.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Media

When uploading images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

When you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. We provide the opt-in option for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

When you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. Select “Remember Me”, to have your login persist for two weeks. After you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

When you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

To provide our athletes with access to the latest class and event schedules, we utilize a public Google Calendar that can be found on our Schedule page. Users can subscribe to have these events added to their own digital calendars.

Who we share your data with

When you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we retain your data

When you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

When users register on our website, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time. Usernames cannot be changed. Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you. This includes any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any of your personal data we hold. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. 

After you make the request to have your data removed, it may take up to 30 days to fully delete the information. To make a request, email marketing@nwfencing.org or contact the Front Desk.

We respect and are committed to protecting your privacy. We may collect your personally identifiable information when you visit our site. We automatically receive and record information on our server logs from your browser including your IP address, cookie information, and the page(s) you visited. We will not sell your personally identifiable information to anyone.

Security

Your payment and personal information are protected by Transport Layer Security (TLS), the industry standard for secure commerce transactions. Your personal information, including credit card number, is encrypted so that it cannot be read when it is sent over the Internet.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

Refunds can be made upon request. Recurring donations may be cancelled at any time upon request. All refunds and/or cancellations will be complete within 72 hours of the request completed. Any transaction disputes or errors will be addressed accordingly.
