Meet Coach Seth
Coach
Seth Kelsey is an accomplished athlete and fencing coach with 12+ years of coaching experience. Before he started coaching, he was on 8 senior national teams, NCAA champion, and 3 time Olympian. Seth was ranked top 16 in the world for a decade. His best finish was as anchor for the Men’s Epee Team at the 2012 World Championships where the team won Gold.
Seth periodically coaches in classes, gives private lessons, and is a guest in our camps. Seth coached the U.S. Modern Pentathlon Team for the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
Seth has independently run a community program in Colorado Springs and continues his long coaching relationship with the City of Thunder FC. He has an undergrad degree in Psychology from the US Air Force Academy and Graduate degree from Air University in warfare. He is also a graduate of the FIE Pan-American Epee Coaching course in 2023.
His competitive experience contributes to well-designed situational bouting building on lessons learned the hard way. He looks to see how he can help develop the unique way each athlete sees the sport of fencing.
Fun Facts: Seth and his wife (also an epee fencer) own and operate several vacation rental properties in Colorado. In his free time he loves rock climbing and cooking. He is also a Lt Col in the Air Force Reserve and is currently stationed at 446 AW at JB Lewis-McChord, WA.
